On August 20, 1824, Lafayette was escorted across the Byram River from New York into
Connecticut where, that evening, he was welcomed at a reception at the Norwalk Hotel. Two
hundred years later the Norwalk Historical Society will once again welcome Lafayette to
Norwalk with a reception at the Town House Museum at Historic Mill Hill Park, only a few steps
from the site where Lafayette stopped at the Norwalk Hotel in 1824. Join us for refreshments,
