On June 3, 1825, Lafayette dined in Erie Pennsylvania on the 2nd Street Bridge under British ship sails of the captured by the USS Niagara whose homeport today is the Erie Maritime Museum.

The Perry Square Alliance of Erie is celebrating the Bicentennial of Lafayette’s Farewell Tour at the ExpERIEence Children’s Museum with a Gala Event and Banquet including the arrival of Lafayette, local & national history, live performances, history actors, and amazing food. The Lafayette Traveling Exhibit along with Lafayette artifacts from the Hagen History Center will also be on display.

Tickets: 
Individual tickets will go on sale on April 15, 2025, at the Perry Square Alliance of Erie website. This is a ticketed event and is expected to sell out quickly when available to the public.  Price $125.00
It would also be appropriate to wear colonial dress or uniform, or early 19th Century dress to the
banquet.

Special Note:
— The annual meeting of the American Friends of Lafayette is meeting in Buffalo NY June 5 -8, 2025 with additional special activities on June 4, 2025.  Buffalo NY is 97 miles from Erie.
— The Erie Historical Society and Hagen History Center is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 to 5 PM at 356 West 6th St., Erie 16507
— The Erie Maritime Museum, homeport of the USS Niagara, is closed on Monday and Tuesday but will reopen on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4 PM.
— ExpERIEence Children’s Museum is closed to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday.
