Zoom Lecture in Slow French Part 2 — From the French Revolution to the Empire
November 6, 2024 @ 2:00 pm–3:00 pm
Returning as a hero to America after the great adventure of the War of Independence, Lafayette is confronted with the horrors of the French Revolution. He fights for his ideals of liberty and for the advent of a parliamentary monarchy that will not see alas not the day. After long years of imprisonment and exile, he must face a new situation in France: the Consulate then the Empire. Little by little, he detached himself from the strong man of the moment: Napoleon Bonaparte.

The lectures are free, they last about 50 minutes, and are in slow French (so it would require at least an intermediate level to be able to follow the talk).
