On June 7th, West Boylston Historical Society unveiled its Lafayette Trail marker celebrating Lafayette’s stop in West Boylston on September 3rd, 1824, on his way back from Boston to New York.
AFL member Dorothea Jenson, in her capacity as a board member of Lafayette Trail, Inc. spoke at the unveiling. Prior to the unveiling, 3 classes of 3rd graders toured the museum, where the Bicentennial panels were set up. Peter Reilly, chair of the American Friends of Lafayette MA Bicentennial Committee, in his 1824 costume, explained the significance of Lafayette and the tour to the 3rd graders.
