Celebrate Lafayette 200! A Living History Extravaganza

  • Selfie Station – Revolutionary War Costumes, Tribute to Lafayette
  • Children’s Petting Zoo
  • Historical Reenactors
  • Blacksmith, Midwifery, Soldiers, Spinning Wheel, Baker, Woodworking, Children’s Games & Music
  • American Friends of Lafayette traveling panels will be displayed in the New Rochelle Public Library Lobby.

New Rochelle Public Library

  • Lafayette exhibit featuring the artwork of local summer campers
  • Panels depicting the close connection between New Rochelle resident Thomas Paine and Lafayette, and the New Rochelle historical connection.

The Marquis de Lafayette arrives to a 19-gun salute, bells ringing
accompanied by emissaries from New Rochelle, Gideon Coggeshall and Laird
M. H. Butler. Greeted by the sounds of Charles Dickerson Fife, Drum and Bugle Corps


12:15 pm Main Stage
New Rochelle Mayor Ramos-Herbert issues a proclamation declaring August 18th Lafayette Day.
Words of Response by Marquis de Lafayette. Remarks by Historians Barbara Davis & Lee Justo and Local Dignitaries. Songcatchers presents Patriotic Songs of the Revolution Charles Dickerson Fife, Drum and Bugle Corps

Legendary and Master storyteller, Jonathan Kruk, will bring the Revolutionary War era, 1824, and Lafayette & New Rochelle to life. Program subject to change
