Bring friends and family for a free visit to Ft. McHenry’s public grounds during this weekend. Explore the replica of Washington’s dining tent which greeted Lafayette upon his arrival to Baltimore on October 7, 1824. Interact with staff in 1820’s attire from Philadelphia’s Museum of the American Revolution (tent curator). Learn about the tent’s history during the American Revolutionary War and how the step-grandson of George Washington and the Society of Cincinnati set up the original tent at Ft. McHenry to welcome an emotional Lafayette to Baltimore 200 years earlier.

Free parking at Fort McHenry on a first come, first served basis. 

Historical Costume is warmly welcomed but not required!
