Col. Timothy Bigelow Chapter Unveils Lafayette Marker

On June 8th, 2024, the Timothy Bigelow Chapter of the DAR unveiled its Lafayette trail marker commemorating Lafayette’s stop in front of the Timothy Paine mansion on September 3rd, 1824. The mansion is also known as the Oaks, 140 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA.  

Included in the speakers were Dorothea Jensen, AFL member, in her capacity as a board member of Lafayette Trail, Inc., Congressman Jim McGovern, and the Mayor of Worcester Joseph Petty, and Peter Reilly, Chair of the MA Bicentennial Committee.  Peter spoke about the upcoming Bicentennial Tour events in Worcester County on September 3rd, 2024.
