This unforgettable experience will bring history to life through a grand parade, Lafayette historical marker dedications, live performances, and an exclusive evening event.
10:00 AM | Lafayette’s Grand Arrival Parade (no charge)
Gather at Crawford County High School (400 East Agency St.) as Lafayette, portrayed by Charles Wissinger, makes his grand entrance in a horse-drawn carriage. Join the excitement as we march through Roberta, accompanied by the Sons of the American Revolution, local dignitaries, and living history participants.
10:20 AM | Official Ceremony & Greetings | City Park, Roberta (no charge)
Upon arrival at City Park, Lafayette will be formally welcomed with military salutes and heartfelt greetings. Witness a tribute to his enduring legacy and Georgia’s rich history.
12:00 PM | Ticketed Luncheon with Live Music | Roberta Civic Center ($25 must pre-register)

1:30 PM | Lafayette Historical Marker Dedication – Site of the Former Indian Agency (no charge)
Join us for the dedication of a Lafayette Historical Marker at the notable site of the former Indian Agency, where General Lafayette and his entourage stayed overnight on March 29, 1825. Though the agency no longer stands, this location remains significant as the final resting place of Benjamin Hawkins, the distinguished Indian Agent who played a vital role in early Georgia history. Set in a picturesque but remote area, attendees should navigate to Benjamin Hawkins Road off Highway 128 to be a part of this commemoration.
3:30 PM | Lafayette Historic Marker Dedication at The Federal Road Heritage Park (Marion County, GA)
Continue Lafayette’s journey west along as we unveil a Lafayette historical marker on The Federal Road near the spot where Lafayette and his party stopped to shelter from a rainstorm with local Creek and Yuchee Indians. Navigate to the intersection of Fort Perry Road and Oakland Road, Box Springs, GA 31801 (Coordinates 32.47586° N, 84.53245° W).
