East Haven, CT: The Hagaman Memorial Library has proclaimed August 21 as “Lafayette Day” in recognition of the day Lafayette visited their town. The library will celebrate with events throughout the day, including Lafayette book discussions, the reading of a Lafayette poem, Lafayette games, and an evening reception. Join us for the unveiling of the Lafayette 1824 Tour marker on the Green at noon.

12 pm–1 pm: Ceremony on the East Haven Green with Marker Unveiling/ Lafayette Poem by Chris Hemingway

2 pm–3 pm: Book Discussion, “The Marquis: Lafayette Reconsidered”

3 pm–5 pm: Lafayette Trivia and Bingo Contest

5 pm–8 pm:  Reception. Light refreshments served.
