Tavern Night at Connecticut’s Old State House Museum, An Evening with Lafayette
September 4, 2024 @ 5:30 pm–7:30 pm
Hartford, CT: Connecticut’s Old State House Museum, in partnership with the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, has a fun-filled evening planned to celebrate the bicentennial anniversary of Lafayette’s visit to Hartford on September 4, 1824, when he stopped at the Connecticut State House. Today, known as Connecticut’s Old State House, the 1796 Federal-style building designed by Charles Bulfinch is a museum. Two hundred years after Lafayette first stepped into the building, he will return to the Old State House and you are invited to have a drink with the General himself, when the Museum is turned into an old-fashioned public house for a “Tavern Evening with Lafayette.” In addition, guests will hear an entertaining talk on Lafayette.
