La Fayette’s Welcome: A new Patriotic Song Written by W. B. Tappan adapted to a Celebrated Air by F. Fest.
This piece can be sung directly from the music published in 1824. It’s set in a key perhaps uncomfortably higher than the average singer, so pitching it down a bit might make sense. The melody gets a bit fancier near the end of each verse, and the piano part can be simplified here and there. A few of the words in the 2nd and 3rd verses might need to be explained.
