Zoom Lecture in Slow French Part 1 — From Childhood to the American War of Independence
September 25, 2024 @ 2:00 pm–3:00 pm
Born in Auvergne, at the Château de Chavaniac, La Fayette was born in 1757. He would never know his father who died on the battlefield of Minden two years later, during the Seven Years’ War. The little marquis will then live in the idealized memory of his father. At the age of 19, young, fiery, and adventurous, he decides to join America to fight the English. There he meets a man who will change his life: George Washington…
The lectures are free, they last about 50 minutes, and are in slow French (so it would require at least an intermediate level to be able to follow the talk).
