Christ Episcopal Church, the Leicester Historical Society, Old Sturbridge Village, and the American Friends of Lafayette will collaborate to commemorate Lafayette’s reception in Rochdale on September 3rd, 1824. The Christ Episcopal Church building had just been completed when Lafayette visited. Christ Episcopal was the first Episcopal Church in Worcester County.

On September 3rd, 2024 at 2:30 pm, at the Christ Episcopal Church, located at 1089 Stafford Street, Rochdale, MA, we will have a reenactment of The Reverend Joseph Muenscher greeting Lafayette and a response from Lafayette. Costumed interpreters will shout the sort of greetings that Lafayette received from the crowd.
